Highlights from Community Meeting with County Executive Steve Schuh

County Executive Steve Schuh participated in a community meeting held at Belvedere Elementary School on June 8th.  CE Schuh provided an overview of the state of the county and the many programs and projects such as the expansion of the B&A Trail, the first new high school to be built in the county in over 30 years, and many other important programs.  He also answered questions from community residents on topics, such as development on the Broadneck Peninsula, the impact development will have on county roads/infrastructure/schools, abandoned homes, and other important questions from the attendees. Below are some highlights from the Schuh meeting:

  • $266 Million projects are underway regarding creek restorations
  • Comprehensive rezoning is planned for 2020 (last comprehensive rezoning completed in 2010)
  • AA County Police have taken an active role in combatting the drug problem in the county and our community – 20 additional officers are planned for FY18
  • AA County is working to assist communities such as Mago Vista to address issue of abandoned/neglected properties
  • AA County Parks and Recs has plans to build a new playground at Mago Vista Park
